Thorpe Prebend House
Thorpe Prebend House
One of the oldest and most historic houses in Ripon. It was rebuilt in 1609 and it is said that King James 1 and Mary Queen of Scots stayed here. A 'prebend' was an ecclesiastical estate that provided the church and clergy with funds.
Note: The '71' grid line appears to pass right through the house, but this side and the camera position are both within the 3170 square.
