Hadrian's Wall at Dovecote Bridge
Hadrian's Wall at Dovecote Bridge
This section of wall was excavated in the 1960s and was visible for nearly 20 years. Because it was built from soft red sandstone erosion became a problem, so the wall was reburied to preserve what remained.
