Post Office and other shops, Tuckswood Centre
When the estate was built in 1948, there were no permanent shops here. Eventually the centre of the estate was built, with a Post Office, Newsagents and Ironmongery on this side. The post office is still here, despite (or perhaps because of?) closures of three other post offices on the south east side of Norwich. The newsagents was originally run by St Dunstans to give work to blinded ex servicemen, but eventually was taken over by Martin McColls. The ironmongery was made uneconomic by large DIY stores built locally, and is now a ladies hairdressing salon.
