Earthworks on Painswick Beacon
Earthworks on Painswick Beacon
Iron Age earthworks on Painswick Beacon, part of the hill fort, also known as Kimsbury Camp, and dating from around 400bc - 43bc. In this view to the west the Forest of Dean and May Hill is seen on the horizon to the left, with a flooded River Severn in the valley bottom. Robinswood Hill, a Cotswold outlier immediately to the south of Gloucester, can be seen in the middle distance above the earthworks.
