Honiton Railway Station
Honiton Railway Station
Ex BR diesel locomotive D 1046 "Western Marquis", hauling an excursion train, waits for the signal to clear for the single-line section. The next crossing point is Chard Junction and although ahead of time, the train was held at Honiton to allow the down service from Waterloo to Exeter St David's a clear run. This was fortunate as poor light required a camera setting of 30 sec @ f16.
(Rivet-counters will point out that this is actually D 1015 "Western Champion" wearing facsimile name and number plates on the side pictured and her own on the other side.)
