Looking down to Frog Hollow
Looking down to Frog Hollow
The view east from Windsor Hill is across the wooded gardens of Belvoir Castle, created by the 5th Duchess of Rutland in the early 19th century. The present Duchess is restoring this "secret" paradise.
See LinkExternal link
Some of the woodland next to the road has been recently cleared giving a good sight of the green walks through Frog Hollow. There is a large pond hidden amongst the trees, right of centre in the photograph. Carlisle Wood is to the immediate left and King's Wood is straight ahead. The wood on the horizon is Big Wood, see SK8431 : Farmland near Harston, Leicestershire, about 130-140 metres above sea level, the same as this view point.
