Thieves Lane
Thieves Lane
The gash in the hill Cliff Rigg caused by the nineteen century whinstone quarrying can clearly be seen. Strictly Thieves Lane is the local name of the footpath that climbs to the left of the quarry. This track is in a direct line with the path so I am somewhat assuming the name also applies to this track where it joins the A173 at Quarry House.
