In the church at Eastwell
This painted hatchment hangs above the chancel screen in St Michael and All Angels' Church. It would have been displayed on the death of Rowland Eyre, the Lord of the Manor who died in 1777. Rowland had married the Hon Mary Widdrington in the mid 1700s and both their coats of arms are shown on the hatchment. The wifeís coat of arms has a paler background, this denotes that she was still living at the time of her husbandís death. The motto says: Omnis Dominu Spiritus Laudet
