Garden Cliff, Strand
Garden Cliff, Strand
The tidal Severn has eaten into the 100ft/30m hill at Strand and revealed a multi-coloured sequence of upper Triassic mudstones in the cliff. The base is composed of Mercia Mudstone and is overlain by the Tea Green Marls. The top of the hill (out of shot) is formed from the overlying Lias rocks of the Jurassic period.
