Canal bridge No. 4
Canal bridge No. 4
The Towpath Guide to the Brecknock, Abergavenny and Monmouthshire Canals states that bridge 4 is the standard pattern for this branch. It has an arch of reddish sandstone constructed from fairly thin blocks, and rubble walling of greyish sandstone, all from the Old Red series. There is no keystone to the arch and the parapet is built from large sandstone blocks.
