Of particular interest is the large local Co-operative store on the left, so typical of industrial areas like this. The building still exists although now divided up into separate retail units, no longer a Co-op.

The bus is no.33 in the Teesside Railless Transport Board (TRTB) fleet. It is a Leyland Leopard with bodywork by Roe, new in 1965. The TRTB was jointly owned by the Middlesbrough and Eston councils, initially as a trolleybus service serving the local steel industry, which was later supplemented by bus services.

This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Link
