One of York's medieval guildhalls, this one was built for the religious and social guild of St Anthony and dates from the 15th century. The present building houses the Borthwick Institute of Historical Research [University of York]. The stone built ground floor is 15th century, whilst the upper floor brickwork dates fro0m 1655/6.
