Glanyrafon Station, Vale of Rheidol Railway
Glanyrafon Station, Vale of Rheidol Railway
A view of the station, looking eastwards. The railway uses the 'Glanyrafon' spelling. The 1905 1:2500 scale county series map shows a waiting shelter here but there is no other evidence that it ever existed. The radio mast is part of the standard gauge railway RETB signalling network, built here before the Vale of Rheidol was privatised and so was then on British Rail land. This location provides a better 'line of sight' than would one beside the standard gauge line, given the local landscape.
