Railway track approaching Melton Mowbray
Railway track approaching Melton Mowbray
The main line from Stansted to Birmingham runs through an area call Swans Nest as it enters Melton. The housing estate on the left was built in the '70s and the large building on the right is part of the Masterfoods complex, one of the largest employers in the town. Taken from the Lag Lane bridge in the adjacent square, the grid line runs left to right just past the bushes on the left.
(Note: Masterfoods in Melton changed its name to Mars UK: Petcare in 2007 to reflect the fact that it is part of the world wide Mars family of companies.)
