Burlescombe: the Grand Western Canal at Ayshford
Burlescombe: the Grand Western Canal at Ayshford
Looking north east; the canal is maintained as a country park managed by Devon County Council. Towpaths between Tiverton and Lowdwells near Greenham provide 11 miles of rural walks. Note Ayshford Chapel left, half hidden in the shadow of a tree. Built in the late middle ages, it was restored in 1847 and now belongs to the Friends of Friendless Churches
