Queen Margaret's University
Queen Margaret's University
Newly built campus for Queen Margaret University, the first new university campus in Scotland in forty years. Sustainability has been very important in the design. Buildings have been designed with natural a ventilation strategy and provide good access to natural daylight. Concrete has been used for heating / cooling purposes and energy consumption and heat generation have been reduced through the use of ‘thin client’ technology. Carbon emissions have been reduced by 75% using a biomass heating system and rainwater is harvested in a SUDS pond.
