St James Park
St James Park
The distant M8/A737 St James interchange won Balfour Beatty a Saltire Award for Civil Engineering Design & Construction in 1994, as indicated by the concrete cairn in the foreground.

The cairn also describes the history of the park, which was a burial ground for the 446 victims of the 1832 cholera outbreak, before being used as common grazing land, a horse racecourse and then a park.
