Procession to the St Benet's Annual Service
The Bishop of Norwich and entourage en route from the wherry that transported them, to the annual service, held at the wooden cross visible on the right horizon.
The service has taken place every year since 1939, except during the 2001 foot-and-mouth outbreak. The cross is made of oak from the Queen's estate at Sandringham, and marks the position of the medieval high altar; it was presented in 1987 and is inscribed with the word "Peace".
