SN8319 : Breach in the Fan Hir Moraine

taken 10 years ago, 3 km from Glyntawe, Powys, Great Britain

Breach in the Fan Hir Moraine
Breach in the Fan Hir Moraine
The tiny Nant Tawe Fechan has breached the southern end of the impressive Fan Hir Moraine. The moraine (or is it a 'pronival/protalus rampart'?) is seen to be composed of assorted blocks of Old Red Sandstone - just like Fan Hir which is in shadow behind it.
