Cragg Quarry
Cragg Quarry
A sandstone quarry situated about one mile south of West Woodburn. It ceased production in the 1920s, re-opened in the early 1990s and closed again in around 2001. In 2005 a 10-year licence was granted for further extraction. According to Northumberland County Council, extraction from the site is intermittent dependent on demand, and the site is capable of producing 3,000 tonnes per year.
