SU7790 : Watery Lane, Skirmett

Watery Lane, Skirmett
Watery Lane, Skirmett
The aptly named Watery Lane used to be a public motor road, but has been made access-only and vegetation has been allowed to make it narrower. And as seen in this photo, water now runs down the lane after wet weather. There are also springs in the area, which feed into Hamble Brook which the map shows as starting a short distance down the valley in Skirmett. The lane is normally a useful short cut on the photographer's cycle route from Hambleden to Christmas Common - but avoided today to avoid getting wet and muddy.
