Forest Chapel
Forest Chapel
This church is 1,200 feet above sea level near Macclesfield Forest and is known as 'Forest Chapel', however, its correct name is Saint Stephen's Macclesfield Forest. The present building dates from 1834, and replaces an earlier chapel built in 1673 for local farmers who wanted a local place to worship rather than having to travel to Macclesfield to attend church.
