Osborne Mills
Osborne Mills
No. 2 left, No. 1 right. Not a well known site. The late George Watkins did photograph the No. 2 Mill engine and No. 1 Mill steam turbine.
Osborne Mills
An interesting complex of buildings in varying architectural styles. The original mill, later known as No.1, was built in 1873 and extended in 1891 and 1900. No.2 mill was a further addition in 1912 in the more modern style of architecture with a greater proportion of window to wall, designed by P. S. Stott. There were separate engine houses to No.1 and No.2 mills. Closed as a spinning mill in 1968 but now in multiple business/industrial use.
