Old railway track
Old railway track
Looking towards the old Waltham Station and the dismantled Waltham branch along the Eaton branch of the iron ore industrial network. This branch was constructed in 1883 to serve the highly productive iron ore workings north of Eaton village and didn't close until 1963. Now these routes and the associated workings have all but disappeared into the farmland with only the embankments, cuttings and occasional buildings and bridges remaining.
