This is the Sundial on the tower of All Saints' Church

It is showing about 11:35, but GMT was 11:50. The difference, common to all sundials, is an effect of the eccentricity of the earth's orbit and the obliquity of the ecliptic, and is called the Equation of time Link

. Mid-February is the time of year when sundials show the greatest slowness relative to GMT and this is tabulated at just over 14 minutes. In early November they show 16 minutes fast.
