The Old Lighthouse, Spurn Point
The Old Lighthouse, Spurn Point
The tide had started to turn as the photograph was taken, leading to a few ripples. Thousands of wading birds were enjoying the mud flats further up river.

There are small pieces of chalk mixed in with the shingle as compared with larger material further up stream (see TA4012 : Chalky Beach, Spurn Peninsula).
