SK2284 : The hole in the wall is barred

taken 10 years ago, near to Bamford, Derbyshire, Great Britain

The hole in the wall is barred
The hole in the wall is barred
This is obviously a constructed hole in this wall, with a wooden frame and lintel.

I have no idea what its purpose was (or is) it would form a useful way through the wall for walkers who find that they are on the wrong side of the wall (as we did!), but it is now barred by a pair of old gates.
