Woolbridge Manor
Woolbridge Manor
An early C17 manor house, with a date stone on the porch of 1635, it stands beside Wool Bridge over the River Frome. In circa 1660 a southwest wing was added (extreme left portion of the building), but apart from that, the exterior remains largely unaltered. At one time the house was owned by the Turberville family, and was where Tess spent her honeymoon in Thomas Hardy's novel "Tess of the d'Urbervilles". The house is Grade II* Listed.
