Disused railway bridge, Argoed, Caerphilly
Most Welsh Valleys had at least one rail line occupying the valley floor. The Sirhowy Valley, sandwiched between the Rhymey and the Ebbw had two, the London & North Western on the west bank and the Great Western on the east. This bridge spanning Cwm Road was on the GWR line which terminated two miles further north at Markham Colliery. Today the Sirhowy Valley Walk follows much of the trackbed.
