Wolverhampton Locks No 18
Wolverhampton Locks No 18
This is on the main line canal to Birmingham - looking towards Wolverhampton. At Aldersley Junction about 500 metres north-west of this point, James Brindley had it connect with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. This gave a route from the Rivers Severn at Stourport, and Trent at Shardlow, and north from the potteries, Chester, the Mersey and Manchester.
