Statue of Isaac Newton, Trinity College Chapel
Statue of Isaac Newton, Trinity College Chapel
Probably Trinity's most famous alumnus, Isaac Newton (1642 - 1726 O.S.) came up in 1661.

The pedestal modestly claims on his behalf "Qui genus humanum ingenio superavit" - "Who surpassed the human race in genius".

Part of the college's WWII Roll of Honour is seen behind.
