The top lock, just out of sight, will complete the 132 foot (40 metre) climb from the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal to the Wolverhampton Level of the Birmingham (main line) Canal.

Note. This lock is a Grade II listed structure with these specifications: c1770 by Brindley, Whitworth and Simcock (engineers). Brick and some stone coping. Double bottom and single top gates.
