Sediment core from old lake bed
Sediment core from old lake bed
This core from a depth of ~4m shows a transition from greeny-grey clay washed in during the Loch Lomond Stadial (younger dryas) to a beige coloured marl. The change happened around 10,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age.
