Braunston Tunnel
Braunston Tunnel
The western portal of the tunnel on the Grand Union Canal. A spring in the embankment on the left of the photo seems to have caused some subsidence and the trees have been cleared from this area for repair work to be carried out.
The Tunnel was opened in June 1796.
