View of Moor Hey, Fixby
In the foreground is a Rhododendron, presumably self-sown. New Hey Road crosses the view, then the M62 hidden in its cutting. The farm is Moor Hey. Hey is a medieval word meaning an enclosure, so a farm might have been established here as early as the 13C. Beyond the derelict Hawkroyd mink farm at The Rough can be seen.
