SE1422 : Brighouse Bridge

Brighouse Bridge
Brighouse Bridge
View taken from the adjacent garage forecourt. The appearance of the two span masonry arch has been spoilt by the 1905 widening, which can be seen as the steel lattice column supported on the centre cutwater and the steel lattice girder doubling as a parapet. The old crossing of the River Calder, Snake Hill Ford is just downstream of the bridge.
