Urban Sunset in South Lodge Drive, London N14

Taken on 18 February shortly after the sun had gone below the horizon there was this amazing afterglow rather than the usual white sky. Apparently the colour (which is natural and not altered in the computer) is caused by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere reflecting the light from the sun which is below the horizon.

The same phenomenum occurred when I took this photograph of the Millennium Dome and Canada Tower TQ3980 : Millennium Dome with Canada Tower.
