A tricky place to negotiate if in the cloud, here lies the parting of two superb routes, one continuing along the ridge from Great Rigg to Heron Pike (here seen on the left), and the other descending off to the right, at first gently and then rapidly, down the steep slopes of stone Arthur towards Grasmere in the valley bottom.
