Wall painting, St Peter's Church
Wall painting, St Peter's Church
The paintings in this church were executed around 1320, and whitewashed over around 1644 as "relics of popery". They were restored in 1929.

This painting shows the weighing of souls by St Michael; a soul is seated in the right-hand scale, and the Blessed Virgin Mary is laying her rosary on the scale to weigh it down; a demon seated on the opposite scale is being attacked by a knight with a lance. (From the church information board).
