TQ2304 : River Adur

taken 10 years ago, near to Shoreham Beach, West Sussex, Great Britain

River Adur
River Adur
Taken from Soldier's Point looking up the western arm of the harbour which is also the route of the river. On the right bank is Kingston Wharf where a large pile of planks from the 'Ice Prince', which sank off Devon in January losing its entire cargo, have been collected from local beaches. Beyond that is a big pile of scrap on what was once Railway Wharf and beyond that is a small fuel depot. On the southern side of the river is a new development still in the process of being completed on the site of a former timber wharf and warehouses and in the long term the riverside may well end up becoming residential with industry limited to the eastern arm.
