Boat of Aikenway
Boat of Aikenway
In spite of being some 70 metres above the level of the river, this ruin is marked on the 1872 map as Boat of Aikenway. However the 1841 census lists the head of household here as a farmer, so it may be a long time since there was a ferry across the river here. The same family was still in the house in 1881.
