A succession of intake lands on the south side of Tre'r Ceiri
These fields were progressively gained from the moorland during the 19th and 20th centuries. The need to balance the preservation of the natural environment with the requirements of the agricultural industry is a difficult one in such an economically marginal environment, but it is unlikely that any further schemes for the conversion of heather moor to pasture land will be permitted in the foreseeable future.
