Looking from the Grotto viewpoint towards the Hotel. The hotel was formerly a mansion called Aber Iā or Aberia. The wooded area beyond is Y Gwyllt (the wild wood) which Clough Williams-Ellis did not acquire until 1940, some fifteen years after he started developing the village.
