Built in Romania
But running on British Railways. These Locomotives were built in Romania by Electroputere as sub-contractors to Brush or BREL & are known as BRUSH Type 5.
Weighing in at 125tons, the locomotives are powered by a Ruston Paxman Engine and Brush Alternators and Traction Motors. This one was based at Toton and was used to haul power station coal trains. It is now privately owned and can be seen working occasionally on the Northampton & Lamport Railway.
