St Alkmund's Well, Derby
This holy well is first mentioned about 1190, but may date back as far as the 9th century. The well is sadly neglected and has been surrounded by temporary fencing to prevent further vandalism for almost two years. A painted sign helpfully advises "Not Drinking Water".
