The scree extends right to the break of slope at the edge of the summit plateau. The edge is protected by a dry stone wall. It is neither safe or desirable to climb into the fort over this wall. Fortunately, a little further east, there is a tor with delightful scramble pitches which, without too much exposure, provides access into the fort.
