Welsh Tower, Ewloe Castle
Ewloe is a native Welsh castle, not one built by English invaders after the Norman conquest. Welsh castles were not built to be strong and withstand a siege, but rather were good for guerilla war. The Welsh Tower, seen here, would have been the keep, and the living quarters of the Lord of the castle.
