TR0632 : Romney Marsh - North-east of Newchurch

taken 9 years ago, near to Newchurch, Kent, Great Britain

Romney Marsh - North-east of Newchurch
Romney Marsh - North-east of Newchurch
A dull March day on Romney Marsh. The hundred or so square miles of the Marsh reclaimed from the sea over the centuries is a wonderful place to get away from it all! Although mainly flat farmland it has a number of picturesque villages as well as the almost surreal starkness of Dungeness - not forgetting the Royal Military Canal and the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch miniature railway!

The stream in the foreground is just part of a huge network of drainage ditches.
