St Mary's church
St Mary's church
The churchyard has been cleared of headstones here. Located beside the River Wissey, St Mary's church has a massive buttressed 15th century tower and aisles that were built to each side of it; the south porch is two storeys high. Extensive repairs were carried out during the 19th century > TF9308 : St Mary's church - view east; a medieval stone mensa has survived and still functions as an altar table > TF9308 : St Mary's church - medieval altar stone. St Mary's church is no longer used for worship and presently in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The church is kept locked but a key is available.
