Boulder, Garfit Gap
Boulder, Garfit Gap
A large sandstone boulder alongside the Cleveland Way and incorporated into the wall. The boulder is supposed to contain prehistoric rock carvings however I had difficulty differentiating the manmade with the natural hollows formed by the weathering out of the numerous ironstone nodules that the rock contains. I found the eighteenth century carvings more interesting NZ5503 : 18c Graffiti.
